About Us

Anchor Bay Dance Center, Ltd., also known as ABDC, opened October 1st, of 2019, just a few months before the state was shut down.  With a loyal group of amazing families, we were able to persevere through a time of uncertainty to come back strong and grateful to be able to share dance with you and our community.  ​After all, integrity, discipline, respect, leadership and community values are some of our most important precepts. We hope to use dance as a vehicle to instill these notions while giving your student the opportunity to study dance for the first time or to expand upon and augment previous training.
At Anchor Bay Dance Center, Ltd., we strive to provide your student with an inclusive and comfortable environment filled with fun and learning.  We hope to awaken in your child a value of performing arts culture, teamwork, and aspirations to high standards of excellence in artistic development and growth.  To fulfill these wishes, we do our best to provide quality opportunities for your student to actively participate in all areas of production as their experience and abilities allow.  We are committed to class sizes that are limited in order to ensure quality service and instruction.

We know that every student has a different dream when they ask for dance class.  Some want to be professional ballerinas, some want to exercise, some want to make new friends and some are just looking for fun.   Our goal is to make sure that your child's individual need is met by maintaining good communication with you and your student throughout their time with our studio, you are such an important part of the success of the programs we offer.  

If we find that your student doesn't know what they want to try, don't worry, we have a solution for that too!  Our intro program is a great way for your child to try out different styles and get to know us before selecting your schedule.  We want to make your dancer's transition into the studio as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Dance Friends Make The Best Friends

• Learning Benefits- The brain works by electrical current thereby needing oxygen and water to function well. Movement (dance) helps to provide one of these two elements, oxygen. Another wonderful thing happens with movement. The brain produces a neuro-chemical called endorphins. This chemical causes a feeling of energy and makes the brain more conducive to learning.
• Behavioral Benefits- Dance can help calm children that suffer with hyperactivity disorders as well as those that suffer from self destructive behaviors. The act of dance seems to help calm and focus these troubled young minds.
​• Physical Benefits- Dance will help develop muscles, tone the body, improve circulation, improve posture, balance, coordination and promote greater flexibility. Flexibility is often overlooked as a benefit but can really decrease the chances of injury especially in an active child. • Mental Benefits- Children who are involved in dance will excel in their academics and tend to be more creative. The art of dance helps teach a child to focus, creativity, and discipline, all in which are mandatory in any area of education.
